Hotsteps Country

Hi and welcome to our site, May and I sincerely hope the contents will be of some help to you.

Being a new site, I hope you will appreciate that we are in the process of adding a great number of dances and other items onto the site for your enjoyment.

We’ve been enjoying the western line and partner dance scene since 1989, teaching firstly (after some coaxing) at what was, until it closed, a brilliant friendly club called Perry’s near Kirton Lindsey.

This led to us setting up the first western dance venue in Hull in conjunction with country band nights at the Hull Irish Centre organised by a lovely gentleman called Col. Pete Travis (Yes, of Alamo fame! An honorary title bestowed on him by the Alamo organisation in America).

Requests then followed to organise classes in other areas which thanks to everyone’s support, are still going.

I have had a life long interest of country music which attracted me to the dancing, it was also the fun element that really had a major influence on me taking that first big step or, should I say one step forward?

Two people in particular who remain very dear in our hearts are Rick and Brenda (Rick sadly past away some years ago) who taught us our first dances over in Llandudno, and the gang that took us into their fold.

They promoted it as it should be promoted, with a lot of fun.

Because we have been very lucky in making so many friends and had so many wonderful times may I dedicate this site to Rick and all our friends who have helped and supported us so much and make this dancing scene such a lovely way of enjoying life.

Thank you so much.

In closing this little intro please feel free to pass on anything you may feel to be of interest for inclusion on the site, humour, news, artist info, dancing etc.

Anything except politics, political correctness and anything that has an effect on our moments of pleasure. Have fun and do enjoy your dancing.

Dave
